How reliable will the infrastructure be at the Venue?

To the Organizers,

I'm curious about the infrastructure at the venue and have a few questions:

Will there be reliable, open wifi?
Will there be admin's on-hand to assist with any firewall issues?
Will there be enough bandwidth to stream live content ( both up and down) during the event? ...during the demos?
If we bring our own hotspots hows the signal strength at the venue?

Thanks! and Im looking forward to the weekend!

    Hey Christopher,

We will have wifi both during the hackathon (june 13-18) and during the final demos at the main conference (June 18).

Since there are many folks registered for the hackathon - it is probably a good idea to bring your own hotspot as well. The hackathon will take place in a location at Union Square, so signal should be fine.

    Thanks for the reply.
    However, I'm bit confused now...

The Hackathon isnt taking place at either Essex House or Jazz at Lincoln Center?
    The venue is not listed....
Please let us know exactly where it will take place.

Also, the schedule lists the event as Friday 6/13 - Sunday 6/15 with Presentations from 5-7pm on Sunday.

However, you just mentioned that Final Demo's are on 6/18 (not mentioned on the agenda).
When and Where will this take place?

Can entrants continue to work on their submissions up until the final demo?
5 days of development is considerably more than Sat/Sun...

Are submitters expected to be available during the course of the conference as well?
Otherwise, would you please provide details on how 'Public Crowd Voting' will be conducted.

    Thats it for now!

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to the event!

    Hey Christopher.

These are great questions. Please find the answers below -

Schedule is fully listed at: http://videoxhackathon.challengepost.com/
We meet at June 13 (Friday) at 4pm. The hacking begins at Friday 9pm and lasts until Sunday at 4pm.
Sunday at 5pm FIRST round of presentations begin, where the finalists will be chosen. The finalists are those who meet all "Judging Criteria", meaning your application is original, complete (functional), based on Kaltura and can be presented publicly.
The finalists will be invited to Kaltura Connect (http://connect.kaltura.com), and present their apps at the first closing keynote on June 18th, where the final judging will be held and the winners announced. Kaltura Connect will take place at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The venue for the hackathon was indeed not announced yet, it will be announced tomorrow morning, and we will also allow for remote participation for folks who couldn't make it to NYC. There will also be online IRC channel mentoring.

Finalists will be invited to implement the judges suggestions for improvements between June 15 and June 18 (when they'll need to present their final apps), and make their app as presentable and complete as they can.
The public voting phase will begin on Sunday, and continue until June 18.

Looking forward to meeting you at the Hackathon!
